THE ROLE AND IMPACT:

The Senior Manager, Communications will provide leadership and operational support to Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s marketing and communications operations with a focus on, fundraising, community engagement and mission work.

The Senior Manager, Communications is responsible for many aspects of external communications, including corporate relations, media relations, overall branding and awareness , events, and marketing and communications engagement to support the fundraising and mission teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH:

Develop marketing and communications strategies to help achieve the organization’s fundraising, mission and community engagement objectives.

Provide excellent writing support across campaigns and all platforms, monitoring and maintaining the highest level of branding and communications standards Contribute to bilingual digital strategies and tactics (including content creation for emails, digital ads, creative assets, website updates, social media posts, internal communications etc.) that support fundraising, mission work, community engagement, volunteers and other areas of the organization Manage and assist with the creation and execution of digital publications such as Impact Report, The Advocacy Brief and Breathe Easier newsletter Manage and coach junior team members responsible for supporting work related to CF Canada’s mission, community engagement, fundraising and corporate communications Assist with the upkeep and continued recruitment for the community engagement program Elevate and Amplifier Manage, update and assist with the development of organizational key messages Contribute to overall social media strategy as needed.

Provide strong client service when working with other teams, using a proactive and problem-solving approach Oversee metrics reports for marketing and communications campaigns and other associated work, ensuring projects have clear KPIs guiding work Liaise with service providers and contractors as needed, including external and internal clients, suppliers, agencies, designers, and others.

Use marketing automation tools, such as Engaging Networks and others to produce and deploy emails, email campaigns, petitions, form letters and other online experiences or tactics as required.

Use analytics tools and platforms (e.g.

Sprout, GoogleAnalytics) to contribute to regular reporting.

Keep up to date with industry best practices in digital marketing & social media.

Identify and act on opportunities for the team or organisation to improve processes or ways of working that help with efficiency, economy, client service or better integration.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Strong understanding of marketing, communications, social and digital principles, with proven experience in planning and delivering high quality outcomes Minimum of seven to 10 years experience producing high impact, thoughtful and persuasive content and materials meant to influence current and prospective Strong understanding and experience working in public relations, social media management and content marketing Excellent writing and copywriting skills, including ability to write for different audiences and different platforms in a complex environment Experience with and knowledge in audience segmentation for email marketing Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal Evidence of having shown initiative, flexibility, and drive; A problem solving approach and ability to prioritize work Ability to thrive working under pressure, through uncertainty and in reactive ways, per the nature of PR, advocacy and government relations work.

Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with a high attention to detail with a flexible and positive attitude Experience in fundraising, government relations or working with a community for advocacy is a plus.
